Day 19: Pleta d'Añes Cruces to Benasque

23km, about 700m elevation gain.

Woke up and got going around 730, a little later than normal. A steep but short ascent up the valley along a river and some boulder-hopping. Spent most of today hiking with L and a German lady living in Spain, also hiking the GR11 - S. A really pleasant but hot hike today down to Puen de San Chaime, stopping at a refugio for a plate of fried eggs and jamon around midday. Then a beer at the campground L and S are staying at, to celebrate Swiss National Day, and then I continued on another 3 km to the town of Benasque, to check into a little hostal for a rest day tomorrow.
